About Rick

My place is behind the camera. Someone has to be there to click the shutter.

That’s me.

My home is Willoughby, Ohio, a small town in Greater Cleveland, Ohio.

Well, it’s not that small. We do have most of the modern conveniences. There’s a Lowe’s. And a Target. And a Giant Eagle. There’s a smattering of fine restaurants, shops, coffee houses, and galleries. And many fine bars. Many.

All that and WiFi, too.

Who could ask for more?

My Western Reserve roots go way back — almost to ol’ Moses Cleaveland.1

I am as Ohio as Ohio can get.

I explore and photograph where I live. It’s what I do.

I hope you enjoy my work!

Serendipitous Self • 2008

While shooting a series of rain squalls blowing in from Canada I happened to glance over my right shoulder to see a double rainbow. There was no time to change from the fish-eye lens, so I made the best of the situation and came out with a self-portrait.
